The car is finished in its rare original color combination of factory Light Blue (DB334) over a red leather interior and navy soft top. Always having been garaged and never having been exposed to weather, this 190SL is the definition of the “original California car.”
We have done our best to illustrate the car’s spectacular condition through the photographs. The exterior is exceptional. The paint is deep and lustrous and nearly free of any flaws. All the doors and panels fit as they should and the body couldn’t be any straighter. The navy soft top is in very good condition. I have to emphasize that this is a rust free car. The underbody is completely original. I am happy to email photographs to those who are seriously interested. The red leather interior is equally as gorgeous. The seats are in excellent shape. The door panels and dash are beautiful, showing a light original patina. This is truly one of the prettiest cars out on the road today.
Another point of emphasis on this classic Mercedes roadster is its superb drivability. The original engine couldn’t run any stronger. It starts right up without any smoke or hesitation, shifts smoothly through through the gears and pulls stronger and smoother than any other W121 we’ve ever encountered.
