    Description

Offered for sale is a very special 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Roadster. The subject of an intensive and perfect frame-off restoration in 2003 by Lingenfelter Germany at a cost of over $75,000 USD ($25k on mechanicals and $50k on the chassis and body), the car remains close to Concours condition. A highly acclaimed German Corvette Tuner and specialist, Lingenfelter has been the subject of over 100 articles in publications such as Motor Trend and Car and Driver. His history with Corvette is long standing and the Lingenfelter name has become synonymous with outrageous yet technologically balanced upgraded performance. This car sports a fully overhauled and tuned Corvette V8 L-76 HG 327ci engine that has been pushed to 396ci delivering an adrenaline and grin inducing 475bhp with a rare four speed manual gearbox. The car also comes with new Holley 4 barrel carburetors, Positraction rear axle drag ratio, factory optioned heater and defroster, AM/FM radio with power antenna, factory lateral exhaust pipes, disc chrome wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Finished in correct and appropriately iconic “Arrest-Me” red over black leather with a new black canvas top, new black carpeting and new rubber protective, the car is as visually impressive as it is mechanically. The paint, panel fit, and body are all virtually flawless, the glass and chrome are perfect and the wheels have been restored and are wrapped in Michelin tires with plenty of remaining tread. The car starts easily, idles evenly and roars when asked. Without a little discretion, it’d be easy to see how the driver could get into all sorts of trouble, but the car is also comfortable at lower speeds around town. The suspension was renewed during restoration and the car’s at much at home in the canyons as it is on the open highway.

Please note that complete engine specs can be provided upon request.

This truly is a masterpiece of American automotive art paired with an incredible high technology engine. Finding comparable examples is difficult, especially as fine as this, and collector connoisseurs should see this as the infrequent opportunity that it is at acquiring the best of the best after someone else has already done all of the heavy lifting (and spending).
