    Description

Offered for sale is a rare, beautiful, numbers matching, original 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupe with gorgeous glass covered headlights and small “mouth” opening. As I am sure most are already aware, this is one of the very desirable 6 cylinder 4.2 Liter engine Cats with triple SU carburetion, fully synchronized 4 speed manual gearbox, and many other significant factory upgrades over the earlier Series I cars.

This brilliant Jaguar is finished in its correct factory Carmen Red (JAG-303) over Black, that in my opinion is the best and the only appropriate color combination for such an aggressively styled ‘60s sports car icon. The paint is exceptional and without flaw. Its deep finish is spectacular. All rubber on the car is new. The interior is very original and in great condition. The seats are in excellent shape, showing only the slightest patina that only adds to this Jag’s overall beauty and charm. The headliner was recently replaced and is perfect. While the carpets are original, they are still very presentable, but could be addressed based on the opinion of the next owner.

The mechanicals are very strong. This is a matching numbers engine (engine # 7E2394-9) and gearbox (# EJ1505). The 4.2L engine pulls powerfully through each of its 4 gears without hesitation or smoke. The ride is comfortable and the suspension feels tight. I would of course encourage a professional mechanical inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase, which I am happy to help facilitate with any interested party. I acquired this wonderful series 1 Jag from a very wealthy estate, whose previous owner had a wide assortment of unbelievably classic and rare British sport cars, all of which went up for auction. Once I took possession of the car in Santa Barbara, CA I had my Jaguar mechanic and longstanding Pebble Beach Concours judge inspect the vehicle and perform a standard service and tune up. I have been driving the car for the last 6 months on sunny weekend afternoons without a problem to report. It is a fantastic automobile.
