    Description

Offered for sale is a gorgeous and rare European 4 speed manual 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL Pagoda finished in timelessly elegant and correct Silver Grey (DB180)  over a navy interior. The 250SL was a vast improvement to its 230SL predecessor and certainly the rarest of the Pagodas, making up less than 11% of the W113 production run. With the 250SL becoming exceedingly more difficult to find, especially optioned with the rarer 4 speed manual gearbox, it is sure to become even more popular amongst the collector community.

The exterior of the car fantastic, the paint deep, lustrous, consistent and free of any significant imperfections. The body is straight and solid, the chrome is flawless and the navy soft top is in great shape with a clear plastic window. You can’t help but get regular thumbs up and waves from enthusiastic onlookers every time you take the car out on a drive. The interior is also in beautiful condition. The seats and door panels are excellent and the original square weave carpets have held up very nicely. The car comes with a “kinder” seat in the back, a rarity for cars that have both soft and hard tops.

This 250SL comes with a large file of service and maintenance records as well as a stamped service book and owners manual. The car is in exceptional mechanical condition, starting easily and pulling strongly through each of its four gears without any grinding. It has more power than you’d think and with the manual transmission it feels sporty on the road, something the automatic transmission cars severely lack. It was always owned in Central and Southern California and was always cared for. As such, there is no rust anywhere on the car. I am more than happy to assist in arranging a mechanical or professional inspection of the vehicle. This has been a wonderful roadster to own and take on the occasional Sunday drive and I hope that it will find a home in an enthusiast’s garage.
