    Description

Offered for sale is a stunning, well cared for, low mileage 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet finished in extremely rare, special order Granite Green Metallic (L699) over Cashmere leather seats. The combination is truly stunning: unique, understated, elegant – truly setting the car apart from all of the Guards Red Turbos. This is a 56,000 mile two owner California car that has always been garaged, carefully maintained, never tracked and beautifully cared for by its owners. Its originality and impeccable condition has been recognized most recently by being awarded two first place honors at the Sacramento exotics class of the Concours d’Elegance. It is an exceptional example of a rare car (1 of 591), made even rarer by its special order color combination (1 of 3).

The car’s exterior is stunning, free of dings or scratches and marred only by a few exceedingly minimal, professionally touched-up rock chips that are so negligible that they don’t even show up in any of the pictures. The paint is original. As such, all of the fits and gaps on the panels are factory perfect. All of the glass and rubber is flawless and the grey convertible top shows no wear at all and beautifully offsets the finish. The car has immaculate chrome Carrera Cup II wheels wrapped in nearly new tires (however the original Fuchs wheels can be acquired), as well as a carbon fiber Momo racing steering wheel (an original steering wheel can also be acquired), however everything else of the car is factory original.

The interior is equally as clean. The beautiful Cashmere leather front seats show only the most minimal of use (no wear marks, fading, tears, or loose stitching), the back seats have never been used and the carpets are plush and unworn throughout. All of the interior panels – including the side pockets in the doors – are perfect and the dash is flawless, free of any indication of warping or cracking. The convertible top’s headliner is unblemished and the rear plastic window is crystal clear. The car of course comes with a matching tonneau cover that fits easily.

Mechanically the car is incredible. If you haven’t driven a 930 and haven’t felt the turbo come into full effect before, you’re in for a treat. Its most recent service included a new top motor, a new clutch and flywheel, all new seals throughout including the intercooler, crank shaft, etc., full valve adjustment, new valve cover gaskets, and much more, all performed by European Performance in Northern California. This car starts immediately without smoke or hesitation, idles consistently and runs flawlessly. It is incredibly smooth while driving conservatively, pulling strongly and shifting effortlessly though each of the four gears, but when you get on it, this car responds with power and engine tone that can only be described as outrageous and grin inducing. The flared-fender stance and wide rear tires help the suspension live up to Porsche’s legendary handling and the car is an absolute joy to drive, whether winding through the canyons, bombing down the highway and even just tooling around town.

This is an extremely unique car with the right kind of history. If you’ve been looking for a 930, or any collectable Porsche, this is a car that deserves your full consideration.
