Offered for sale is an absolutely stunning, final air-cooled generation Porsche 911 Carrera (993) with only 17,725 miles that is finished in gorgeous and surprisingly rare Polar Silver Metallic over black leather. When collectors and enthusiasts look for 993’s (as so many of them do), there’s a list of requirements that seem to be ubiquitous: very low miles, a vehicle in showroom condition with completely original paint, a six-speed manual transmission (of course), a car with full service records that was never tracked or modified and lastly, the right color combination (because while Arena Red or Aventurine Green over tan can be attractive, they don’t hold a candle to silver over black). The current owner had the same requirements when he started combing the market a few years ago. A painstakingly picky decades-long collector, he searched for the right example for the better part of a year, finally landing on this car, which he purchased from the original owner in Scottsdale. And during his ownership, as he does with all of his cars, he continued to provide exceptional care and pride-of-ownership so that when one day it was time to move on he could rest assured that the next owner would be equally pleased and excited. Fortunately for the Porsche enthusiast/collector market, that day has come.
To say that it’s difficult to find a 993 as immaculate as this one is an understatement. The original factory paint is as close to flawless as you’ll find, the only detractor being a single rock chip on the driver side mirror that’s smaller than an eighth of an inch that has been touched up with Porsche touch-up paint. The rubber and glass are in excellent condition and the 17” Cup II wheels are perfect (no curb rash, discoloration, etc.) and wrapped in nearly new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car has never been in any sort of accident and therefore the panel fit is excellent. The car’s interior is equally pristine. The leather seats show truly negligible wear, the dash is flawless, the carpets and interior panels are excellent and the headliner is untouched. For a 993 Carrera the car is heavily optioned, most importantly including full power seats, limited slip and Porsche Hi-Fi premium sound.
Always serviced fastidiously, largely by authorized Porsche dealerships and sparingly by an independent Porsche specialist, the car has a full file of all of its service history, as well as the original books, manuals, keys and even the original window sticker. The car is factory stock with the exception of RSR mufflers and tips added by the second owner, which gives the car a grin-inducing throaty exhaust note that, unlike many exhaust systems is entirely appropriate for the car. The car is mechanically fantastic, providing perfect compression, even power, smooth shifting and the 911’s legendary handling. For the driving enthusiast it doesn’t get much better.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire what many consider to be the pinnacle of the 911. With exceptionally low miles and the right colors, configuration and condition, this 993 truly deserves the attention of any serious enthusiast or collector.
