Offered for sale is an absolutely stunning, practically virginal 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 4 (997) finished in beautifully understated Black over Black leather with 19” alloy wheels. The consigning owner purchased the car new, adding it to his multi-car weekend driver stable. In the nearly four years he’s owned the car it’s accumulated only 5,900 miles (less than 1,500 miles a year). He’s also cared for the car meticulously, keeping it in his temperature controlled garages, having it routinely detailed and making sure the (minimal) required service is taken care of. As such, as the pictures show, the car is in near flawless mechanical and cosmetic condition. If you’re looking for a 997 Targa, you’ll not find a cleaner example.

As you’d expect, the paint is impeccable, the chrome and glass are flawless, the wheels are perfect and wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread, and everything works. This includes the navigation, premium Bose sound, dual power seats, power sliding Targa top (which functions at any speed). For enthusiasts, the Targa line is the perfect medium – the rigidity and quiet ride of a coupe and the open air experience of a cabriolet. They’re also by far the rarest of the 997s, something to keep in mind as one watches model depreciation curves.

Having been properly cared for and still under warranty, the car is as flawless mechanically as it is aesthetically and is an absolute joy to drive. It fires instantly, shifts effortlessly and pulls with exceptional force through all the gears. And while retaining its sports car characteristics, the drive quality is exceptionally smooth and comfortable. Your significant other will have no justification to balk at long rides up the coast in a 997. But, as always, it’s in the corners that Porsche has earned and retained its legendary reputation. With its all-wheel-drive, it’s nearly impossible to kick the back end out in a corner, allowing for aggressive (if not illegal) driving that’s sure to put as big a smile on your face as the distinctive Porsche engine tone under acceleration.

In summary, if you’ve been looking for a 997 – or even just an impressive yet tasteful sports car – this Targa 4 deserves your attention. It has the right colors, the right set-up and is impeccable with extremely low miles.
