    Description

Offered for sale is an absolutely gorgeous, exceedingly original and well-preserved, numbers matching and entirely solid and sound 1952 MG TD finished in striking and original Clipper Blue over its original red interior with a tan soft top and side curtains. A true survivor that was never exposed to the elements or left to fall into disrepair, the car is also mechanically excellent and ready for touring and other enthusiast events, a completely honest preservation class classic that’s sure to bring its new owner years of reliable enjoyment and appreciation.

Believed to be largely original, the Clipper Blue paint certainly bears a handful of imperfections commensurate with any well-cared-for, 60+ year old survivor, however the finish is still abundantly presentable, maintaining plenty of depth and luster and cloaking an entirely original, straight and accident-free body with correct and even panel fits and gaps. The glass and brightwork is all in excellent original condition, as are the original wheels and hubcaps and while the tan soft top shows its age, it is still completely serviceable and free of any significant wear. The car’s undercarriage is entirely original and sound, free of any corrosion and completely straight and correct. The car’s interior is in similarly clean original condition, the seats, carpets and interior panels bearing a charming original patina. The dash houses fully functional gauges and switches and the car also comes with an uninstalled period radio as well as reproduction owners and workshop manuals.

Completely numbers matching and original, the XPAG 1250 engine starts effortlessly, idles consistently and pulls strongly and smoothly through each of the 4-speed transmission’s gears. Compression is strong across all cylinders, the car drives and brakes straight and true and the ride quality is excellent. An entirely visceral, grin-inducing experience from behind the wheel, the car is a joy to drive whether tooling through town, winding through the back roads or cruising down the highway.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an incredibly original, numbers matching, mechanically excellent, charmingly patinated and entirely honest preserved example of one of history’s most important sports cars. Finished in a desirable livery and thoroughly enjoyable to drive, if you’re in the market for a T-Series, this lovely original TD certainly deserves your serious consideration.
