Offered for sale is this truly remarkable example of a completely original and unrestored 1954 MG TF 1500 Roadster with 54,000 original miles from new, finished in its factory original Light Grey (code B) paint. This is a correct LHD North American export car that remains as original as the day it left the MG production line. Within the last few years over $16,000 was carefully spent to overhaul the car mechanically while leaving everything original, resulting in the best possible running and driving original TF on the roadway. All records, books, manuals, original tools, service documentation, etc. will be included in the sale. It is not an overstatement to say that this is one of the most well-preserved and unique MGTF 1500’s on the market today.
The rare Light Grey color finishes the car beautifully. All the paint on the body is original and in remarkable shape for its vintage. The chrome is original and wonderful. As seen in the photographs, the soft top and side curtains are original to the car. We have purchased a new and correct tan soft top from Moss Motors that will be included with the purchase but not installed as to keep the car absolutely original. This is a dry and a rust free car. The original red interior is equally as stunning as the car’s exterior beauty. The seats remain in excellent shape, benefiting from the care of the car’s two meticulous owners.
The car is brilliant mechanically. It fires up with ease and idles better than any other vintage MG we’ve ever experienced. The compression is perfect, the car doesn’t smoke in the slightest and the transmission shifts as new. It is truly a joy to drive.
