    Description

Offered for sale is a remarkably original, 61,000 documented original mile, all numbers matching, rust free, always California owned 1969 Jaguar E-Type 4.2L Roadster, finished in its original Regency Red over Black Leather interior. This car is spectacular to say the least.

The paint is wonderful, retaining astonishing depth and luster, marred only by minor imperfections. Through the record of the previous owners, a review of the car’s documentation, and my personal opinion, I believe the paint to be original. The chrome is original and nearly flawless. The original wire wheels, free of pitting, chipping, or fading, are the best indicator of how well this car was cared for by never being exposed to the elements. The windshield wipers are off the car (but will be included with the car) because it is only driven in perfect weather. The interior of the Jag is also superb. The leather seats are nearly flawless, with no creasing, wearing, tears, etc. The car comes complete with its original boot cover as well as a full tonneau cover. The aftermarket radio/cd player works perfectly, and the Jaguar radio will also be included with the sale.

The story of the car’s original Southern California owner helps explain why the car is in the condition it is with the low original miles it has. He was the Vice President of Honeybaked Ham Co. and received this car as a gift through the company. He had an incredible home in a rural part of Southern California where his passion and hobby was to collect vintage farm and tractor equipment and store it in his beautiful barn/showroom. Long story short, he loved the Jaguar, but had many cars and was more in love with his tractor hobby. The Jag was then stored in this barn, driven very sparingly but always maintained until he sold the Roadster in the late 80’s, essentially as if it had just come off the showroom floor at the Jaguar dealership.

This XKE is a mechanical wonder. I have driven at least 20 of these 4.2L cars over the years, and I have yet to get behind the wheel of one that has the power and the response and tightness of this car. Documented with extensive service history, this car has always received preventative maintenance and kept to the highest standard. A previous owner made the very expensive Weber carburetor conversion with a new manifold, which as all mechanically inclined Jag enthusiasts know makes all the difference in the world. The original carburetors and the original manifold come complete with the car, along with the original US knock-offs, original air filter, original Jaguar owners manual, Jaguar service manual, Jaguar literature, records, Jaguar radio, etc.

This Jaguar is an unbelievable piece of history that needs to find a good home. I am more than happy to help in facilitating professional mechanical inspections as well as professional cosmetic inspections to help verify paint originality, etc. Thank you for your interest.
