Offered for sale is a gorgeous, extremely clean, 27k original mile 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL finished in ever-tasteful Arctic White over Burgundy leather. Sold new by Intercontinental Motors in Houston, the car would remain in Texas until late 2015 when we acquired it. Always used sparingly and properly cared for and garaged, it remains in excellent condition throughout, showing only the minimal wear one would expect of a 27k mile, nearly thirty-year-old classic.
The Arctic White finish is in excellent condition, marred only by the most negligible of imperfections, none of which are significant enough to appear in any of the pictures. All of the chrome, rubber and glass are great original shape, as are both the soft and hard tops. The car’s beautifully off-setting Burgundy interior is equally as clean, the leather seats showing virtually only minimal wear typical of any 27k example, the carpets and interior panels excellent and the hard-top’s headliner entirely perfect. The flawless original wheels are wrapped in brand new tires and the car’s undercarriage is original and rust free. All of the panel fits and gaps are perfect and there’s absolutely no evidence of any accidents.
The engine starts easily, idles smoothly and consistently and pulls strongly and smoothly through each of the gears. The car drives and brakes straight and true and is extremely comfortable with a modern ride quality, whether tooling through town, winding through the canyons or bombing down the highway at Autobahn speeds. The car comes with a litany of its original fittings including the original window sticker, the original manuals, the stamped original service booklet, a full size spare tire, toolkit and a clear CARFAX report.
