Offered for sale is an exceptionally original, rust free, numbers matching 1964 Porsche 356C Coupe finished in its original and rare Slate Gray (code 6401) over Black. As the photographs show, this Porsche is truly gorgeous and its ownership is the reason why. It was recently acquired from the personal estate of a very wealthy and prominent German businessman who spent the majority of his life in the United States. Vintage cars were his passion and Porsches were his favorite. His automobiles were meticulously cared for and this C coupe in particular was one of his favorites to take on weekend drives, primarily because of its wonderful and correct Slate Gray paint.
The paint is without flaw. Deep, lustrous, and absolutely stunning. The body could not be any straighter. All the gaps are correct. The chrome is in very good original condition. The exterior is exceptional. The body and undercarriage are completely free of rust. The original interior is equally as nice, showing a light patina that is simply beautiful. The seats are in great condition, with no rips, tears, discoloration, or any significant wear. The original carpets and original headliner are in good condition, as are the 40 year old Coco mats. Its beautiful and original Blaupunkt Radio works perfectly. To reiterate, this is a remarkably original and correct 356 that has been kept up to a very high standard.
The original numbers matching 1600S motor is very strong and does not smoke without any significant oil leaks. The 4-wheel disc brakes are excellent. The numbers matching transmission is excellent and pulls strongly through all four gears without any grinding or hesitation.
